At many points throughout history, humanity tended to long to return to the simple values of personal power and splendor, as opposed to the power gained by the society as a whole. This Nitzschean movement emerged in the Diamond Age, too; however, latest achievements of cybertechnology and genetic tailoring opened new perspectives before the ones who desired exceeding their limits as human beings. The Will to Power movement allowed individuals to became true masters of themselves, while at the same time allowing society to function.
