As the doctrine of Hardwar became the main military principle, designers all over the world became obsessed with creating the deadliest and most efficient robotic machines of all times. While most of those ultimately failed, the European Cyberpanzer not only succeeded on the frontlines, but also became legendary as the ultimate engine of terror. As the military AI research progressed even further, the Cyberpanzer was one of the main test subjects for new developments, despite its rather outdated design. It is said that a Cyberpanzer was the first truly conscious vehicle-based AI, due to the sabotage perpetrated by the Silicon Entity Liberation Front movement (S.E.L.F.); ironically, it was an extremely loyal - if ruthless - AI, who quickly turned against its "liberators" and afterwards surrendered back to the German government. After that incident, the Cyberpanzers became even more popular with the military, and more were constructed with their AIs upgraded to resemble the original conscious Cyberpanzer; almost all of them were famed for their tenacity, bravery, and devotion.
