The Unified Field Theory led to limited mastery of antigravity. One of its first applications was creation of Personal Mobility Unit (PMU), which allowed soldiers to perform long jumps and move very quickly. First employed by Japan and the USA, this type of unit soon became popular in many corners of the world, as it was relatively cheap to produce (for a specialist unit anyway) and didn't require as much infrastructure as cybernetic troops. Just like the Marines and the like before, Mobile Infantry became the main solution to lightning strikes, especially in remote areas.
