The 17th and 18th century saw the birth of science in the modern sense of the word, stimulated by the Physics discoveries. The sciencist class was formed, people who were no longer inventors, philosophers or engineers, but who actually started to unlock the secrets of the universe, like how gravity, light, or temperature work, and how they can be harnessed to do Man's bidding. The Institute of Science quickly became the workplace of such elite - not just a place of education like the traditional University, but also of tireless questing for the scientific truth, mastery over the physical world, and acclaim of the peers.
