Nanites have completely revolutionised human world on every level, facilitating production and cutting costs. However, nanites required programming to construct anything, and various design companies as well as creative individuals were bombarding the market with their own unique designs of such programs - or designs, as each of them was actually a blueprint for the nanites to create a book, or a vehicle, or a summer house. Such diversity was undeniably attractive, but those designs were scattered throughout the entire infosphere, and their numbers were growing exponentially; also they greatly varied in quality, therefore making choosing one of them even more difficult. However, by initiative of a collective of brilliant minds, the Nanopedia project was initiated - a vast, easily-accessed, well-structured database of nanite designs. With the Nanopedia, manufacturers didn't need to invent the wheel over and over again, as they could use designs prepared for similar uses before. The much-applauded standardisation reached its full potential.
