Installing:

NOTE: If you are updating from Diplomod V3.1, all you need to do is point 1 below. No other changes to files required.

IMPORTANT: I have tried to make this mod as generic as possible. If you have your own mods or changes, then this shouldn't interfere much, if at all. This mod has been designed to only directly affect the diplomacy structure within CTP2. The files above marked as (Must be overwritten) are large changes to the file, and if not used will upset the balance of this diplomacy model. The files above marked as (Suggested change) are changes I have made that though not neccesary, will inevitably provide benefits to the AI. Eg. Ability to build diplomats in any AI strategy.

1 - Unzip files to Call to Power 2 install directory.
2 - Open: ctp2_data\default\gamedata\script.slc in notepad.
3 - Delete from bottom of file:
		#include "diplomacy.slc"
4 - Add the following lines to bottom of file:
		#include "withdraw.slc"
		#include "diplomod.slc"
5 - Open: ctp2_data\english\gamedata\strings.txt
6 - Add the following line to bottom of file:
		import "diplomod_str.txt"
7 - PLAY!

Effects of script:
------------------

New diplomacy models for AI to AI and AI to HUMAN interaction.

- AI will not by default refuse another AI's proposal.
- AI has higher priorities for making proposals. This causes the AI to make more proposals.
- AI's will generate either positive or negative regard for each other.
- AI/Human interaction will be more agressive/demanding.
- Enabled trade and military pacts for peace treaty. I believe this to be more historically accurate.
- AI will build slightly more diplomats. (If suggested change of UnitBuildLists.txt is used)
- On average, an AI will make 15 considerations for proposals every turn.
- AI has 3 different AI-Human diplomatic states being friendly, neutral and provoking.
- AI's will now build embassies with other civs.
- AI's will now pullout troops when withdraw troops agreement is in place.
- AI's will swap maps rarely in the beginning with increasing frequency till normal 1% chance.
- NEW PROPOSAL: Break agreements. Request/offer to break agreements. This will break all agreements with a third civ.
- AI's will almost snub you completely if at war with you.

Suggestions:
------------

1 - Increase AI timeslices in const.txt.
2 - Play on larger maps. My diplomacy model works better on them.
3 - Change all "SpecialUnitsCount" in strategies.txt to double what they are now. Has the effect of the AI using more clerics/diplomats/spies/corporates/etc.

Diplofrenzy Notes:
------------------

In Diplomod V3.2 there is NO internal support for Frenzy AI. The mods have not been tested together to see what result would occur. I believe, however, that you would find that the AI's come out friendlier to each other.

Bug Notes:
----------

There are two known bugs that shipped with the release version of CTP2. These were not fixed in the patch 1.11 update. These two bugs are the "advance-for-gold" bug and the "research-treaty" bug. These are internal bugs and cannot be rectified by SLIC. The "advance-for-gold" bug is where the AI requests an advance, you counter by asking for gold, the AI accepts and receives the advance, but you do not receive the gold. The "research treaty" bug (which I believe to be a design fault not a bug) is where the AI will gain one advance per turn if you have a research pact with them.

I hope you enjoy Diplomod. If you have suggestions/comments, please email me.
